Travel Analysis

Bristol Airport is situated 7 miles south-west of the city and provides short haul flights throughout Europe. It is by far the busiest airport in the South West and the ninth busiest airport in the United Kingdom. The nearest larger airports are in London and Birmingham. Train journeys to these populations centres are at least 90 minutes.

A shuttle bus service operating from Bristol Temple Meads railway station offers the nearest direct transport route to Bristol Airport from the site.

Bristol Temple Meads station is situated within Bristol city centre and adjacent to the site. It forms the main railway hub in the South West, with routes converging from Wales, Devon, Gloucestershire and Berkshire with travel times of 1 hour (indicated by the blue area on the second map to the right). As such, the city is easily accessible by public transport for commuters from other major population centres. Further improvements to the railway infrastructure will lead to shorter journey times from these locations, as well as increasing the commuter belt around Bristol.
