MArch II Student
Growing up in a crowded city like Hong Kong, air, noise and light pollutions are always concerns for me and my family, which I found related to the ‘urban and health’ theme and want to look deeper into it. Therefore, my first choice for studio is the Urban unit. When I work on my projects, I always like to look at the wider area as a whole and the connections between exterior and interior. I believe that zoning and the proportion of green areas are some important factors for urban planning, which I want to focus and progress on. I’m also interested in landscape architecture and designs that harmony with the surrounding and nature. The ‘weak architecture’ theory by Kengo Kuma is always my inspiration. Against all the ‘strong’ modern architectures, where every building is trying so hard to stand out from the crowd, I believe that architecture should focus more on its functionality, the people in use and the relationship with surrounding environment.
