I have personally done a lot of thinking and reading about overpopulation and the issues surrounding the ever growing problem of landmass versus the sheer number of people on the earth. As such, how we develop as a species, how we inhabit earth and it's cities are problems I feel should be addressed. Health is impacted upon by architecture and influenced by cities in more obvious ways to do with the physical aspect but the social and mental health facets of true well being should be explored more thoroughly.
To develop ideas about overpopulation alongside the health implications of the built environment makes sense when considering the future of not only architecture in the developing world, but also systems and changes to ethos that may be required generally.
In my opinion, there is no greater issue facing humanity than overpopulation and by using health as the vehicle to demonstrate this provides unique opportunities to provoke thought about how and why we design and furthermore what we can change about methodologies to improve quality of life (or preserve it altogether for that matter).
